| |
Resumen | dc.description |
Naturality evaluation in translations represents a struggle since it is considered as a subjective task. However, a comparison between translated versions of the same source text can be made in order to determine which is the most natural version in the target language. In fact, naturality seems to be related to the absence of source language interferences in the target text. Therefore, considering structural anglicisms as a specific form of interference, this study aims to determine the type and number of eight of such structures in two translated versions of the novel Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl. The two examined translations are carried out by a machine translation tool and a human translator, respectively. The initial hypothesis claims that machine translation presents a higher number of structural anglicisms, then a lower degree of naturality, than the human one. The results corroborate the hypothesis showing that there is a considerable difference in the amount of structural anglicisms between the two target texts that implies a minor degree of naturality in the machine translation than in the human one
| |
