This study seeks to explore the experiences and significances in relation with videogame playing and the way frequent videogame players gamers interact with each other. An exploratory qualitative study is carried out with analysis of thematic categorical content. The sample consists of 6 subjects that define themselves as gamers, who underwent semi-structured interviews. The results show two main themes: Being gamer: Sharing a culture and prioritized dedication, related with the attributed significances of being a gamer, including the known positive as well as the negative aspects of it. The second theme, Virtuality as a mean of relation, covers the social life of gamers and anonymity as the main middleman of relationships. It is concluded that an implicit shared culture exists among videogamers and a time management factor that compounds fundamental elements of being gamer. This is related to virtuality as a mean of valid interaction, where, even though relations are negotiated from anonimity, these can nurture up to be as gratifying, intense and deep as in-person relationships
