<p>Esta investigación se enfoca en la definición de la imagen del traductor poético como re-escritor de una obra poética mediante la aplicación de los principios del Método Funcionalista (Nord, 2010) y la Equivalencia Dinámica (Nida, 1994), principalmente. El objetivo central es respaldar la imagen del traductor poético como traductor-escritor a partir de la funcionalidad de los textos meta en la situación comunicativa establecida en elencargo de traducción, fundada a su vez en el estudio pre-traslativo de cada texto origen.Con este objetivo, se analizan tres poemas del escritor Edgar Allan Poe, Spirits of the Dead, The City in the Sea y The Haunted Palace, y sus traducciones respectivas realizadas por Manrique Sánchez Soto.</p><p>Para el análisis se desarrollaron dos etapas de estudio, cuyos resultados dan cuenta de que la imagen del traductor-escritor se puede respaldar por medio de la funcionalidad en el texto, por la función expresiva del texto origen en el texto meta y por la equivalencia. En síntesis, se considera que un estudio de estas características podría llegar a establecer y respaldar la imagen de traductor poético como un traductor-escritor dentro del área, que requiere habilidades específicas según el género literario del texto a traducir y su función dentro de una situación comunicativa específica</p>
<p>The main objective of this research is to establish the image of the translator of poetry as a poet itself through the usage of the main principles of the functionalist approaches of Nord (2010b) and the analysis of dynamic equivalence (Nida, 1964), among other aspects of the Translation Studies. This purpose is supported under the implementation of the functionality of the target texts in specific communicative situations previously fixed on the translation brief and in the pre-translational analysis of each of the three source texts written by the poet Edgar Allan Poe. This analysis was sectioned in two processes and its results show that the image of the translator can actually be supported by the implementation and usage of the Functionalist Approaches and Equivalence. Therefore, the projections of this study may establish and ratify the role of the poetry translator as a co-writer of literary texts according to its function and adequacy into certain target contexts</p>
