The current study, involving a case study of two public schools, analyses the work configuration for the new professionals who enter schools financed with SEP resources: Psychologists and Social Workers. Through interviews and content analysis of work shadowing with these professionals, and interviews with teachers and principals, three main activities were identified for them: define and organize their work, respond to students’ needs and build a self-care space. To carry out these activities the work configuration is delimited by institutional practices and their own motives such that at times they work as independent and others as interdependent professionals
