Behavioural problems in Early Years Education -EYD- programmes have barely been discussed in Chile. Furthermore, the vast number of infants wrongly diagnosed by their educators in the classrooms has led us to question what exactly it is that they know about the aforementioned problems, and how they manage to use the strategies needed in their own pedagogical practice. The present, exploratory research focused on the conceptions that EYD teachers in active practice have regarding behavioural problems in infants in Chile. With the help of an online survey, which was composed of closed and open questions, EYD teachers’ most significant aspects were analysed, these being the knowledge, beliefs, and techniques they declared as part of their methodologies to handle child behaviour problems; thus, this will be looked at with an intersubject focus. The results obtained showed that teachers tend to perceive children with behaviour problems as those who display disruptive outbursts and who do not meet developmental standards inside the classroom, attitudes which are in a great deal manifested physically, completely ignoring others that are particular to some behavioural disorders. Likewise, incongruities between the knowledge of the disorders persistence and their effective treatment were also found. To sum up, this diagnosis shows little conceptual command of behavioural problems, but a high command of the professionals regulatory framework. These findings are discussed in their impact on their professional development and initial teaching training
