Semi-structured interviews to representatives of the movement, and participant observations in citizen meetings were used. Content analysis was carried out to identify key elements of the autonomist leadership, the main result being a local understanding of it, addressed in the following axes: "Leadership and Organization in the MVC", which presents the manifestations of leadership in the movement from the sayings of its participants; and "Tensions in the MVC", which is a critical and situated reading of the phenomenon studied. It is expected to contribute to the construction of a local understanding of leadership from a critical perspective, and to foment reflections from social psychology on how social movements and new forms of leadership position themselves as valid and powerful forms of articulation between different actors and possibilities of social transformation
