| Resumen | dc.description | <p>La manipulación en la traducción en política es un aspecto que suele ser considerado al momento de comparar un texto traducido con su versión original. Normalmente la traducción de este tipo no mantiene la carga ideológica expresada en el texto fuente debido a la ideología política, al contexto cultural y al contexto histórico del traductor, entre otros factores. El objetivo de este proyecto es investigar la carga ideológica del texto The Dictator’s Shadow: Life under Augusto Pinochet y la de su traducción al español, La sombra del dictador: Una memoria política de la vida bajo el régimen de Augusto Pinochet, mediante un análisis contrastivo. Por medio de las categorías establecidas para esta investigación, se identificaron las figuras retóricas utilizadas para la construcción del significado ideológico político, puesto que estas se utilizan para persuadir o manipular el discurso. Además, se realizó un análisis contrastivo con las expresiones traducidas para verificar la mantención de la carga ideológica en el texto meta. Los resultados indican que el autor utilizó mayormente metáforas y la traductora mantuvo las figuras retóricas con traducciones literales que conservaron en su mayoría la carga ideológica del texto fuente</p> | |
| Resumen | dc.description | <p>Manipulation in the translation of political texts is an aspect that is taken into consideration when comparing a translated text with its original version. Usually, this kind of translation does not maintain the ideological burden expressed in the source text due to the translator’s political ideology, cultural context, and historical context, among other factors. The aim of this project is to research the ideological burden of the text The Dictator’s Shadow: Life under Augusto Pinochet and the one of its translation into Spanish, La sombra del dictador: Una memoria política de la vida bajo el régimen de Augusto Pinochet, through contrastive analysis. Once the categories for this project were established, rhetorical figures used for the construction of political and ideological meaning were identified in the source text, as they are used by definition to persuade and to manipulate the discourse. In addition, a contrastive analysis was carried out using the translated counterparts to verify the maintenance of the ideological burden in the target text. The findings indicate that the author used mainly metaphors, and the translators kept rhetorical figures with literal translations that mostly maintained the ideological burden of the source text</p> | |
