The present investigation exposes two opportunities for improvement in the Photometry and Quality Control Laboratory, which correspond to the transcription of data by hand on two veneers and the time used to execute the photometric test on a measuring machine. These data, in turn, are transferred to an Excel spreadsheet, depending on the ability of the user to carry out this task. This procedure requires an extensive period of time, which could be used to perform other tasks within the laboratory. From these opportunities, the investigation exposes the necessary antecedents on the operation of the Mirror Goniometer. An automated measurement taking system that would reduce the processing time is proposed. In this way, a greater number of measurements could be made in less time, without depending on the skill of the operator in charge. By applying this system, the user could spend his time carrying out other tasks in the laboratory, which would have an impact on the effectiveness of compliance with work orders. This research proposal will be developed from the study of the different times of Assembly, Stabilization, Execution, Disassembly and type of Luminaire, which are part of the photometric test. To perform this task, two measuring machines corresponding to the Mirror Goniometer and the GO-SPEX 500 are compared. The first one is controlled by an operator during all the necessary time; while the second measuring machine is only controlled at first, leaving the user available to perform other activities in the laboratory
