| |
Resumen | dc.description |
A study of the state of the art is made about the different kinds of 3D printing methods, the existing documentation in the internet will be analyzed. It continues with a detailed study of the different open source 3D printers available in the market, in order to have the necessary knowledge for the construction of this type of machines. It analyzes the various electronic and mechanical devices needed to the development of a self-replicating Cartesian 3D printer, whose basic operating principle is that the big amount of pieces that form the main structure are printed through another FDM machine, decreasing the prototype process. After the identification of each electronic and mechanical device needed, it will conclude with the design of the first prototype through the computer assisted software 123D Design by Autodesk. In the process of design, its considered the study of the different structures of 3D printers. This process involves the making of 3 iterations with the purpose of obtain the best 3D design that presents the highest performance. When the 3D design is finished, the construction of the 3D printers is continued, following exhaustively the construction manual. At the end, is continued the study of the Marlin Firmware, configuring each relevant parameter, speed, acceleration and jerk. After ending the design and construction process and before the printing of the first 3D pieces, it`s necessary to understand the functioning of the slicing software, which is the responsible for delivering the instructions so that the 3D printer firmware can perform the 3D printing process correctly, respecting the limitations of the machine. Finally, the first 3D printing tests are realized with the newly built machine, this tests give all the troubles, both software and hardware, guiding to the tough process of the calibration of each one of the identified variables that present some kind of problem, solving them each one and documenting the entire process
| |
