<p>El desarrollo de este Trabajo de Titulación está enmarcado por la problemática que existe en sistemas con compensación serie y la utilización de protecciones basadas en la medición de impedancia. La protección de distancia -impedancia- basa su funcionamiento en cálculos hechos a partir de mediciones de tensión y corriente. Dicha medición se ve afectada por la inclusión de condensadores en serie al circuito. A pesar de que existen mecanismos de mitigación se ha comprobado mediante simulaciones en el Software Digsilent que aun así hay problemas asociados a sistemas con compensación serie. Producto de esto, se analizarán dos modelos de protección distintos, asociados a sistemas con compensación serie. Se realizará una comparación del relé Siemens 7SA612 con la aplicación de una Red de Área Amplia -Red WAN-, lo que se aplicará a los trabajos de interconexión del Sistema Interconectado Central -SIC- y del Sistema Interconectado del Norte Grande -SING-</p>
<p>The development of this work is framed by the existing problems in serial compensation systems and the use of impedance based protections. The distance protection -Impedance- is based on calculations made from measurements of voltage and current. Such measures are influenced by the inclusion of serial capacitors to the circuit. Although there are mitigation mechanisms that have been proven through simulations in Digsilent software, there are still problems associated with serial compensation systems. The measurement problem is caused by a defective polarization of the relay, that is, the resulting measure of the potential transformer varies with the degree of compensation that exists in the line, giving incongruent values in terms of address recognition in a fault event</p>
