| Resumen | dc.description | <p>La presente tesis surge a partir de la preocupación1 que existe en torno a la discusión de qué ciudad se está creando en Viña del Mar y cuál es la “imagen de ciudad” que presenta hoy la otrora “Ciudad Jardín”. El análisis se centra en la Población Vergara, donde por medio del análisis de los elementos que construyen el paisaje urbano y las diferentes formas en cómo interactúan los bordes de los territorios privados con los espacios públicos constituidos por las calles que enfrentan, nos permiten clasificar las diferentes tipologías de diseños que se han utilizado a través de la historia en la conformación actual del barrio (signos) y el grado de identidad que éstos generan en sus habitantes (significado). Diseños que albergan una multiplicidad tipográfica resultado de la aplicación e interpretación de las normativas que han regido sobre el territorio de estudio, las que mayoritariamente se enfocan en aspectos cuantificables sobre las edificaciones, más que en la construcción de las cualidades de habitabilidad del barrio.Desde un enfoque cuantitativo se establece una metodología que construye a través del trabajo de campo, un plano catastral de la situación actual del paisaje urbano en la Población Vergara, contrastándolo con imágenes históricas, estudios preexistentes y la apreciación cualitativa de sus habitantes sobre los diseños utilizados en los bordes de interacción privada/pública (antejardines y aceras), midiendo su capacidad de generar signos identitarios. Así, esta tesis tiene como finalidad, realizar un acercamiento general sobre los alcances y limitaciones de las normativas que como consecuencia construyen la imagen urbana de la Población Vergara y por medio de la observación arquitectónica analizar e integrar los elementos constitutivos de esa imagen: el espacio conformado por el paisaje urbano y los elementos significantes en la construcción de su identidad</p> | |
| Resumen | dc.description | <p>This thesis emerges from concerns related to the discussion on what type of city is being created in Viña del Mar and what “urban image” is presented today by the city once known as the “Garden City”.With a focus on Población Vergara, an analysis of the elements that make up the urban landscape and the different forms of interaction where private lands meet public spaces and streets allows us to classify the different types of designs that have been used throughout history in the current configuration of the neighborhood (signifiers) and the degree of identity that these generate within the inhabitants (signified). These designs harbor a typographical multiplicity due to the application and interpretation of regulations governing the land under review, most of which are focused on quantifiable aspects of the buildings rather than on the construction of the neighborhood’s livability qualities. Applying a quantitative approach, the methodology employed uses fieldwork to construct a cadastral map of the current urban landscape situation in Población Vergara, contrasting it with historical images, previous studies and the qualitative perceptive of its inhabitants with respect to the designs used in the areas where private and public lands interact (front yards and sidewalks), measuring their capacity to generate self-defining signifiers. In this way, the present thesis is aimed at gaining more insight on the scope and limitations of the regulations responsible for constructing the urban image of Población Vergara and using architectonic observation to analyze and integrate the elements that make up this image: the space composed of urban landscape and the signifying elements in the construction of identity</p> | |
