Impact of energy consumption on the OpEx of WDM networks

Abstract

The contribution of the energy consumption on the operational costs of the WDM layer of two network architectures is evaluated. Results show that energy consumption does not determine the operational expenditures of the optical layer. © 2012 OSA.
